Lots of possibilities for hiking or cycling. Or you can go for lovely walks on narrow roads, through villages and olive yards. The feeling of Cretan life!
The house is a modern house including traditional Cretan construction style. The house is ideal for 2 families to stay together as you will have some privacy also within the house. 4 bedrooms, one with a sofa bed. There are also 2 good quality madrassas available to have on the floor for children up to 10-11 years old (not babies). So in total 10 people can sleep. All the bedrooms have access to the outdoors. A big outdoor area, you will always find shadows. Easy access to the pool for handicapped people. The view is magnificent. View of the sea and the mountains. From the roof terrace you have a panoramic view, also to the mountain of Psiloritis which is the highest mountain in Greece. The sunsets are stunning, and from the roof you can enjoy sunrises.
Close is the village of Pigi where you can find a supermarket, a pharmacy, a baker, a butcher and a few tavernas. What about a morning walk on a small road through olive yards, through the village of Agios Dimitrios and to the bakery in Pigi to buy the fresh bread for your breakfast. You can find some of the best tavernas with the most delicious food within a few kilometers. The town of Rethymno is only 12 km away with a beautiful old town and lots of things to explore. If you have been in the town in the evening, the best thing is to come back to villa Elies and feel the peace!
