Wine Tour

We drive to the beautiful Apokoronas region, where traditional small villages are found around
the foothills of the White Mountains. You will have the opportunity to visit the family owned
Dourakis winery, and enjoy a tasting of 7 selected wines in their folclore “museum” room.
You will be guided with your personal wine expert to the secret art of tasting and you will be
informed in an easy and fun way about the indigenous grapes of Crete and its long lasting wine
history.
After the winery you will be driven to the picturesque village of Vamos where you will enjoy a
mezze style lunch paired with more Cretan wine.
ITINERARY
• Departure from your hotel, enjoying having a sommelier sharing its knowledge of Crete and
its wines.
• Arrival at the family owned Dourakis winery, in their “museum” room you will taste 7 different
wines, with homemade Cretan “rusks” and olives from the winery’s olive grove. Your own
sommelier will guide you step by step to the secrets of the art of wine tasting and explain
you the indigenous grapes of Crete.
• Mezze lunch at a traditional taverna
You leave the winery and in a 10 minutes drive you visit the traditional village of Vamos
where you will enjoy an authentic Cretan mezze lunch in a local small taverna. During your
lunch you will taste 3 more Cretan wines pairing your dishes.
• Return at pick up point at around 16.00 pm
