At Crete Holiday Home, we believe that the best flavors are those left untouched by modern chemicals. Our olive oil is a testament to our respect for the Cretan land and a gift from our private family groves to our guests.

Crete Island has 3 Main Varieties and Types of Olives:
Koroneiki: the dominant variety in Crete.
Tsounati: A particularly popular one, often used for the production of green, mildly salty olives.
Kalamon: excellent alternative for breakfast, combined with Cretan rusk.
Centuries-old Trees: In Crete, there are many monumental, centuries-old olive trees, such as the famous Olive Tree of Vouves, which is considered one of the oldest in the world.
Our gift to you
Our philosophy is simple: we treat our trees like family. To ensure the highest quality of “liquid gold,” we follow a strictly natural cultivation process that honors traditional Cretan farming. Every drop of oil comes directly from our own fields, allowing us to oversee every stage of growth. We maintain a clean ecosystem, so our groves are 100% free from synthetic chemicals, pesticides, and industrial fertilizers.
To protect our olive trees from the elements and pests, we use only natural wax. This traditional method provides a physical shield for the trees without compromising the purity of the fruit or the soil.
Because our oil is extracted from olives grown in such a pristine environment, it retains its full biological integrity. It is rich in polyphenols, antioxidants, and that distinct, peppery finish that characterizes authentic Cretan extra virgin olive oil.

At our villas, hospitality is enriched with the essence of Crete’s natural gifts. In each villa, you’ll find a small bottle of olive oil. You are welcome to cook it or take it home – it is safe to put it in your luggage (not hand luggage)
